SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer dropped their first conference match of the season on Friday after falling to Westminster College on the road at a final score of 2-0.

Series: After Friday's loss, UCCS still leads the all-time series over Westminster College with a record of 7-3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The first half belonged to the Westminster Griffins who broke the scoreless tie with a goal from Kim Hendrickson in the 24
th minute.
• The Mountain Lions attempted to push through the Griffins backline and managed to do so with a missed cross off a corner kick at the 13
th minute and a shot from
Fie Steenberg on a penalty kick but WC proceeded to carry the 1-0 lead into halftime.
• In the second half, the Mountain Lions struggled to find any scoring opportunities as the Griffins pinned UCCS back and found their second score of the match at the 58:07 mark with Alex Hoffman putting the Mountain Lions in a 2-0 deficit.
• The UCCS attack came to make a strong offensive push in the closing minutes but were unable to string anything together as the Griffins pulled off the home victory while holding UCCS to no shots in the second half.
STATS FROM THE DAY:
• UCCS was outshot 12-2 by Westminster with the Griffins posting five shots on goal as the Mountain Lions were unable to land a shot on goal.
• The Mountain Lions held the advantage in corner kicks over the Griffins, 4-1.
• Both
Fie Steenberg and
Abby Barhydt registered first half shots.
• WC's Kim Hendrickson led the field with a game-high four shots and three shots on goal.
• Alexis Walker makes three saves in frame and moves to 5-2-2 for the season.
• Seven different Mountain Lions played the full 90 minutes on Friday.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Fie Steenberg recorded her first penalty kick as a Mountain Lion. She has also recorded at least one shot in seven of eight matches that she's played in this season.
• Westminster was held to their second-lowest shot total on the season.
• UCCS has held the advantage in corner kicks for seven consecutive matches.
