COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The No. 8 University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions faced off against Stonehill College for the first time in women's soccer program history. UCCS combined a balanced offensive attack with a solid defensive performance, securing their first victory of the season, 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions got it rolling early, with Sydney Lasater rocketing a shot from outside the box, landing in the top left corner to give UCCS a 1-0 lead.
- In the 29th minute, Abby Barhydt sent a through ball to Jael Larson who blasted a shot past the Skyhawks defense, sending the Mountain Lions into halftime, up 2-0.
- Jael Larson found the back of the net for a second time in the 82nd minute, thanks to an assist from freshman Jessica Rockwell.
- The UCCS defense was stout in the second half, holding the Skyhawks without a shot for the first 40 minutes. While Stonehill made a push in the final minutes, it wasn't enough as the Mountain Lions prevailed with a 3-0 victory.
STATS FROM THE DAY
- UCCS outshot Stonehill 30-11, outpacing them in shots on goal by a count of 12-5.
- Jael Larson led the Mountain Lions in shots and shots on goal, recording seven and five, respectively. Jessica Rockwell and Gabriella Lancaster each registered three shots.
- Alexis Walker tallied five saves, posting her first shutout of the 2022 season.
- UCCS attempted six corner kicks, with Stonehill only attempting four.

- In only 35 minutes of action, Jael Larson netted her first and second goals in a Mountain Lion uniform.
