COLORADO Springs, Colo. – After helping the Mountain Lions make their second consecutive RMAC Semifinal appearance, redshirt sophomore
Tyler Richardson is tabbed an RMAC All-Tournament team selection by the conference office.
Richardson batted an impressive .438 (7-of-16) in the 2022 RMAC Baseball Tournament as the starting catcher drove in six RBI while hitting two doubles and two home runs as the Mountain Lions went 2-2.
The Hemet, Calif. native started the tournament by going 3-for-5 with two RBI in the 6-7 loss to Colorado Mesa as he continued to drive in four runs in the next two games that resulted in wins for UCCS. Richardson finished 2-for-3 at the dish with a double, home run, and two RBI in the 8-4 win over Regis then followed it up with the Mountain Lions rolling through CSU Pueblo a day later as he tallied his third straight game of two RBI in a 1-for-5 day at the plate after launching a go-ahead two-run homer in the third inning. Richardson then wrapped up the tournament on 1-for-3 hitting after notching a double to keep his 12-game hitting streak alive heading into the 2023 season.
There was a total of 10 student-athletes with MSU Denver's Ross Smith being voted the RMAC All-Tournament Team MVP.
