Last Time Out
- The Mountain Lions' last series of the regular season came against Colorado School of Mines last weekend with the series ending in favor of the Orediggers who took three out of four games.
- UCCS and Mines started the series by splitting Friday's doubleheader with the Orediggers taking game one, 8-5, as the Mountain Lions bounced back to defeat Mines at a final score of 12-9. Reliever Jon Sotto made an early appearance by coming in to pitch in the first inning and throwing 4.1 innings to claim his fourth win. Offensively, UCCS recorded 16 hits in the win as freshmen Macully Sehr and Caleb Stubbings drove in three RBI each with Tyler Richardson adding another two RBI after finishing a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored.
- Saturday's doubleheader also went in the direction of the Orediggers with the Mountain Lions falling 6-19 in game one and 8-15 in game two.

RMAC Tournament
- As the No. 1 seed, Colorado Mesa University will serve as the host site with the Mountain Lions set to take on the Mavericks in game three on Wednesday, May 11th at 7 p.m. in Grand Junction, Colo.
- Regis University (27-22-1, 20-12 RMAC) earns the No. 2 seed and will battle No. 5 seed Colorado School of Mines (32-17, 17-15 RMAC) in the first game on Wednesday at 11 a.m. as game two features No. 3 seed Metropolitan State University of Denver (31-19, 20-12 RMAC) and No. 4 seed Colorado State University Pueblo (26-24, 17-15 RMAC) at 3 p.m.

- UCCS and CMU have matched up in a total of 26 games in the all-time series with the Mavericks currently winning the series with an 18-8 record.
- The Mountain Lions faced the Mavericks in their second conference series of the season where CMU took the series, 3-1, but UCCS was able to grab game four to win the most recent matchup between both teams.

Scouting Colorado Mesa
- The Mavericks (36-12, 23-9 RMAC) are coming fresh off a series sweep over CSU Pueblo as the Mavericks claimed their 10th straight RMAC Regular Season Championship in Grand Junction last weekend.
- CMU's offense has been one of the top in all of Division II with the Mavericks holding the highest batting average (.371) and slugging percentage in the nation (.653).
- CMU is averaging 13.06 hits per game with 10.5 runs per game for the third highest scoring offense in DII.
- The Mavericks have launched 104 home runs for the third most in DII with Haydyn McGeary (26), Caleb Farmer (23), and Spencer Bramwell (20) all recording 20 or more home runs. McGeary, Farmer, and Bramwell rank first, third, and 12th in DII for home runs, respectively. The Mavs big-three have also shown their ability to drive in runs with McGeary, Farmer, and Bramwell posting 61, 69, and 54 RBI, respectively.
- Designated Hitter Haydyn McGeary has been the ringleader for the Mavericks with the junior ranking top-10 in country in batting average (.463, first in DII), hits per game (1.67, 10th in DII), home runs (26, first), and slugging percentage (1.043).
- Redshirt junior Blake Rohm paces a CMU pitching staff that has the second-lowest ERA in the conference (5.95) by registering a team-low 2.43 ERA off 33.1 innings thrown in nine appearances and five starts. Rahm also holds a 4-1 record and holds a 1.02 WHIP and 40 strikeouts.
- CMU ace Kannon Handy has been the Mavericks key starter on the mound with 12 starts in 12 appearances while allowing a .251 batting average with a 3.86 ERA. Handy has fanned the conference's second most batters with 81 strikeouts to help contribute towards and 8-1 record through 70.1 innings. Â

- The Mountain Lions have qualified for the RMAC Tournament every year as an NCAA Division II program, marking six straight seasons.
- The UCCS bats have been responsible for 553 hits on the season, good for the third most in the RMAC, 19th most in DII, and totaling an average of 11.06 hits per game.
- Their 553 hits are compilation of the nations second most doubles (141) and doubles per game (2.82) along with 74 total homers which ranks as the fifth most in the conference and 20th in the country.

- Through 28 games and 27 starts, Tyler Richardson has come on strong with a .416 batting average where 17 of his 42 hits going down as doubles for 27 RBI.
- The team's home run and RBI lead belongs to redshirt freshman Caleb Stubbings with 16 home runs and 59 RBI. Stubbings has driven in one or more RBI for five consecutive games for a total of eight RBI in that span.
- In 33 games played, freshman Macully Sehr has been impressive at the dish hitting .353 with only six games where he has gone hitless. The starting infielder adds 12 doubles to his stat line with one triple and 24 RBI.
- Relievers Brock Weiss and Joseph Harris combine for six total saves on the season with Weiss leading the way with four.
- Graduate student Jonathan Cowles still holds the team lead in wins on the Mountain Lion's pitching staff with a 6-5 record as the Greeley, Colo. native has struck out 63 batters. Jon Sotto sits right behind Cowles with a 4-2 record as the redshirt junior set a new career season record with four wins on the year as the California native has notched a win in his last three appearances.
- Freshman Evan Langston has tallied an impressive 3-1 record on the bump for the Mountain Lions as he also holds opponents to a team low .297 through 38.2 innings of work in 13 appearances and four starts.

UCCS Under Head Coach Dave Hajek
- Dave Hajek, who led UCCS to its first RMAC championship in program history, is in his sixth season as the Head Coach of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball program in 2022. He's coached the only MLB Draft pick in Zach Hall and the only All-Americans in Matt McDermott, Matt Clarke, Jake Anderson, and Evan Richards.
- In six seasons, Hajek holds a .544 winning percentage with a 134-119 overall record that includes, six RMAC Tournament appearances, one RMAC Tournament Championship, a 5-7 RMAC Tournament record, and one NCAA Tournament appearance.

- If the Mountain Lions pull off the game three win then they will move on to face the loser between MSU Denver and CSU Pueblo on Thursday, May 12 at 3 p.m. But if the Mountain Lions lose, they will turn around to play the winner between Regis and Colorado School of Mines at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
