COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball graduate student-athlete
Jasmine Jeffcoat (Superior, Colo.) has been named to the 2021-22 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Second Team, announced today by the league office.
Colorado Mesa University's Daniella Turner is the 2021-22 RMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Haylee Weathersby of Black Hills State University was voted the RMAC Freshman of the Year while the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines collected the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year (Ashley Steffeck) and the RMAC Coach of the Year (Brittany Simpson) accolades. RMAC individual awards and all-conference rosters are voted on by the league's 15 head coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for themselves or their players.
A transfer student from the University of Denver, Jeffcoat started 23 games and competed in all 29 for the black and gold. In her lone season with the Mountain Lions, she averaged 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. From the floor, she shot a solid 55.7 percent, making 112-of-201 field goas while netting 68.8 percent from the charity stripe (66-of-96). She finishes the season ranked ninth in the RMAC in offensive rebounds per game (2.4), 10
th in blocks (24), and 11
th in free throw attempts (96).
The 6-foot-2 forward scored points in every game this season, including 13 games in double digits. In an overtime road win at MSU Denver on Feb. 19, Jeffcoat had a career night in points (25), blocks (four), and made free throws (9-for-9). She blocked a shot in 12 different games and recorded multiple blocks in eight games.
The Mountain Lions closed out the 2021-22 season with a 13-16 overall record and an 11-11 mark in league games. UCCS earned the No. 7 seed in the RMAC Tournament, falling to No. 2 seed Colorado Mesa University in the quarterfinal round.
