COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nine different players recorded a point for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team as balanced scoring led to an 18-10 home win over Rockhurst University Wednesday afternoon. Today's win marked the Mountain Lions first home win of the season and it snapped the Hawks four-game winning streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams were evenly matched in the opening quarter as each squad netted three goals. Natalie Church and Angela Naugton did not waste any time as the two connected just 19 seconds into the game for Naughton's first goal of the game and her sixth of the season. Mackenzie Blair knotted the game for Rockhurst just over a minute later, before Julia Patrick and Hannah Koopal scored back-to-back goals for a 3-1 UCCS lead.
- Rockhurst took their first lead of the game after scoring the final two goals of the opening quarter and added a third straight goal three minutes into the second stanza for a 4-3 lead. Their only lead of the game was short-lived as Naughton scored back-to-back goals, including a player-down goal at 6:25 to give the lead back to UCCS. The Hawks' Logan Derosia netted her third goal of the half to knot the game for the fourth time in the opening half, but it would be the last tie of the match as Annalise Carr, Church and Audrey Napp scored three straight goals in the final 2:12 of the half, giving UCCS an 8-5 lead at intermission.
- The Mountain Lions controlled the second half, out-scoring the Hawks, 10-5. Olivia Evans scored her first career goal for the Mountain Lions to open the second half, and then found Holly Sodomka for the game-winning goal with 6:12 left in the third quarter.
- UCCS scored five of the last six goals as Church netted the final two goals of the game in a 60-second span, sealing the home win for UCCS.
GAME STATISTICS
- The Mountain Lions out-shot the Hawks, 36-27, including an 11-4 second quarter performance. The Hawks edged UCCS in ground balls (24-23) and free-position shots (9-8).
- Patrick, Carr, Naughton and Church each recorded hat tricks. Patrick and Naughton added three assists each to lead the team with six points.
- Napp also had a multi-assist game (two) to bring her game total to three points.
- Hannah Koopal came off the bench to score two goals, one of which was a free-position goal.
- Holly Sodomka posted a game high four caused turnovers to go with her three draws and goal.
- Napp and Church tallied a team high five draws each as UCCS won 20 of the 28 draw controls.
- Madison McGriff played all 60 minutes in goal, making nine saves and earning her second win of the season.
- The Hawks were led by Derosia's four goals, two assists and seven shot attempts. Three of her four goals came from free-position attempts. Sydney Shindler picked up a game high six ground balls.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- McGriff moves into second place all-time for most wins in program history. She is tied with Emma Becker's seven career wins as McGriff improves to 7-6 all-time.
- Four days after recording her first career win at UCCS, head coach Melissa Rausch earned her first career home win today.
- Today's win broke the Hawks four-game winning streak as all four wins had come against RMAC opponents.

- UCCS will play their second RMAC game of the season on Monday, March 21 when they play host to Colorado State University Pueblo at 2 p.m.
