Mountain Lions Send Four Runners to Compete at the Ted Castaneda XC Classic

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country runners competed in uniform Saturday at the Ted Castaneda XC Classic held at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs, Colo.

AROUND THE COURSE
  • Will Parsons paced the Mountain Lions, finishing in 27:09.32 to grab 46th place.
  • Walker Rudolph was the next UCCS runner to finish, placing 52nd with a time of 27:25.03.
  • Rounding out the UCCS squad were Justin Banta and Joey Hamilton, running times of 27:42.23 and 27:56.37 to both finish inside the top 65.
                        
RACE LEADERS
  • Colorado School of Mines and Adams State University each scored 33 points to share first place honors.
  • Paul Knight led the way for the Orediggers, placing first with a time of 24:41.70. The Grizzlies were led by Miguel Coca, who ran a 24:49.73 to take home second place. Northwest Kansas came in third place with a team score of 87 points.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Mountain Lions will return to competition next week at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invite. The meet will take place on October 8th at 10 a.m. (MT).
