KENOSHA, Wis. – All seven University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country runners finished in the top 10 Saturday morning at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational. The Mountain Lions crushed the eight-team field, scoring 19 points, 70 points fewer than second place Minnesota State Mankato (89 points).

AROUND THE COURSE
- Afewerki Zeru cruised to the individual win, crossing the finish line in 24:44.4, more than 40 seconds faster than second place.
- Wisconsin-Parkside's Uriah Aili broke up the pack of UCCS runners to finish second in 25:27.4.
- The next five runners to finish the 8k race hailed from UCCS. Evan Graff placed third in 25:31.6, followed by Mark Simmons (25:37.5), Branden Bohling (25:40.3), Matthew Schramm (25:46.0) and Gavin Harden (25:53.5).
- Will Young finished ninth overall and seventh for the Mountain Lions with a personal best time of 26:07.7

- Zeru's time of 24:44.4 led all 72 runners this morning. He has won both races he has competed in this season (UCCS Rust Buster).
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
- The Mountain Lions top five scorers combined for a packed time of 2:07:19.7, more than six minutes faster than Minnesota State's packed time of 2:13.28.9.
- UCCS was the lone team representing the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the South Central Region at today's UWP Lucian Rosa Invitational.

- UCCS will wrap up the regular season portion of their schedule at home on Friday, Oct. 8. The Mountain Lions will host the UCCS XC Open at Cherokee Ridge Golf Course in Colorado Springs, Colo. The men's 8k race will begin at 5:40 p.m.
