NEW ORLEANS, La. – On Friday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the DII Outdoor All-Region honors with the University of Colorado Colorado springs track and field programs combining for a total 17 all-region selections, including four Tope Regional Performers.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
The No. 12 nationally ranked UCCS Men's Track & Field team gathered eight total all-region honors between seven student-athletes as two Mountain Lions finished as the top regional performer in their respective evenst. Outdoor senior
Will Ross leads the seven Mountain Lions with two all-region honors of his own in the long jump and triple jump as he collects his eighth and ninth career USTFCCCA All-Region honors.
Dakota Abbott joins Ross for all-region in the triple jump as Abbott jumped his way to Top Regional Performer in the event. Senior
Dawson Hopkinson repeats his indoor all-region honor in the pole vault as
Colton Homuth earns his first outdoor all-region recognition in the shot put. At the hurdles,
Charlie Forbes races to all-region in the 110m hurdles for his second outdoor honor of his career as outdoor freshman
Dillon Andrews claims his first ever all-region honor in the 400m hurdles. First time national qualifier
Skye Ciccarelli also collects his first career USTFCCCA All-Region honor in the high jump.
For the No. 20 nationally ranked UCCS Women's Track & Field team, seven different Mountain Lions garnered a total of nine all-region selections including three Top Regional Performers. Sprinters
Brittany Fuchs and
Kayla Zink each claimed two honors in the 4x100m relay and 100m with Zink running her way to the top regional time in the 100m. Freshmen
Keyanda Bolton and
Ashley Benton round out the UCCS' 4x100m relay all-region with their first ever regional honors. In the 100m hurdles, the younger classmen racked in two more all-region honors in the same event as freshman
Melissa Moreni and sophomore
Cameron Tracy joined each other on the 100m hurdles all-region team with Tracy nabbing Top Regional Performer. Outdoor junior
