COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field teams posted two top-10 national marks at the Loper Twilight #2 on Sunday with the women's 4x100m relay team setting a new school record and
Peter Ackah leaping to the 10
th best long jump mark in Division II.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Peter Ackah improved on his long jump mark from Saturday as he registered the second best jump in school history. His first place mark of 7.61m provisionally qualified him for nationals as he currently holds the 10
th best long jump mark in DII. Freshman
Peyton Turnage also improved on his provisional mark in the event as he notched second place with a leap of 7.31m. On the women's side, after posting the third best outdoor women's long jump mark in school history,
Hannah Meek came out to record the fourth best mark in program history by jumping out to an event winning mark of 6.19m.
• Two more first place finishes came the Mountain Lions' way in the field events starting with senior
Dawson Hopkinson who repeated his Saturday performance with a provisional mark of 4.84mto take the men's pole vault. Freshman
Seth Richmond launched a mark of 53.85m in the men's javelin to leapfrog
Thorben Hast for the fifth all-time javelin mark in school history as he claimed first place.
• The women's 4x100m relay team of
Keyanda Bolton,
Ashley Benton,
Brittany Fuchs, and
Kayla Zink notched their second consecutive provisional mark on the weekend as they sit an improved provisional qualifying time of 45.96s while also setting a new school record in the event. Zink then headed to the 100m where she also won the event by clocking the school's fifth all-time fastest 100m time at a provisional time 11.78s.
• At the hurdles, freshman
Melissa Moreni and sophomore
Cameron Tracy ran to first and second place respectively in the women's 100m hurdles as freshman
Dillon Andrews clocked the third fastest 400m hurdle time in school history with a fourth place time of 54.57s.

Next stop, NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The field of national qualifiers is set to be released Tuesday as the Mountain Lions gear up for the national stage Thursday, May 27-Sunday, May, 29 in Allendale, Mich.
