Track & Field Posts Seven National Marks and Six All-Time School Marks at Loper Twilight #1

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field teams notch seven provisional qualifying marks and six top-5 all-time program marks at the Loper Twilight #1 in Kearney, Neb on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The women's 4x100m relay team of Keyanda Bolton, Ashley Benton, Brittany Fuchs, and Kayla Zink notched a provisional mark and came up just shy of the school record after running to a time of 46.18sto win the event.
• The 4x100m relay team hit the track for a second time on the day in the 100m where Zink clocked a second place time of 11.80s to register a provisional qualifying time and post the fifth fastest 100m time in school history. Fuchs finished the event for a fifth place time of 11.96s while Benton ran to seventh place (12.22s) with Bolton taking eighth (12.26s).
• In the women's 100m hurdles, Cameron Tracy inked her name into the school's outdoor all-time list once again by racing to the fourth fastest time in program history with a fourth place time of 14.32s.
• In the field events, the men's triple jump featured two provisional marks and a new top-5 all-time school marks as Dakota Abbott led the way with the second best mark in school history at a provisional mark of 15.23m for third place. Outdoor freshman Peyton Turnage finished right behind with Abbott with a provisional mark of 14.95m for a fifth place finish.
• Outdoor junior Peter Ackah jumped his way to the third best long jump mark in school history after taking the event with a provisional qualifying mark of 7.33m. On the women's side, Hannah Meek repeated Ackah's third best ever program mark with one of her own by leaping out to a provisional mark of 6.21m in the long jump for an event win.
• In the men's pole vault, senior Dawson Hopkinson etched his name into the UCCS record books for the fourth time as a mark of 4.84m gave Hopkinson the fifth all-time mark for a 10th place finish and provisional qualifying mark.
• Freshman Thorben Hast is now the owner of the first and fifth best school marks in program history for the javelin as he heaved a mark of 53.30m.

UCCS stays in Kearney, Neb. for the Loper Twilight #2 on Sunday, May 15 with the javelin, discus, and long jump starting at 3 p.m.
