COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field teams broke two school records and registered two new top-3 national qualifying marks after Sunday's competition at the Kit Mayer Invite in Golden, Colo. and Loper Invitational in Kearney, Neb.

HOW IT HAPPENED | KIT MAYER CLASSIC
• Outdoor freshman
Justyn Loper worked his way into the all-time marks in program history for two different events on Sunday as he broke his own record in the hammer throw. The new UCCS men's outdoor hammer throw record still belongs to Loper but improves to 57.42m as Loper heaved a provisional qualifying mark and took second in the event. The record-breaking throw also places Loper second in the country for the event. Loper's day continued into the shot put where a mark of 14.53m ranks as the fifth best all-time mark.
• The UCCS throwers continued to set all-time marks as they moved into the javelin.
Seth Richmond placed his name to the top of the men's javelin list with a throw of 54.62m as
Jaren Albrighton now has the fifth bets mark in program history with a mark of 50.85m. For the women, it was Caroline Walters who bested the field of competition with a throw of 36.23m to claim the fourth mark in program history as she now owns the third and fourth best program outdoor marks.
• The Mountain Lion women found their rhythm in Golden, Colo. as outdoor freshman
Anna Holland worked her way to two top-5 program marks after competing in the hammer throw and the discus. Her discus mark of 40.85m set a new PR as she holds the third and fourth best discus marks. For the hammer throw, Holland's mark of 46.57m moved her into third all-time as she also holds the top mark in school history as well. In the shot put,
Emily Arseneau added her name to the all-time list for the second straight weekend as she now owns the program's top-3 marks after heaving the third best mark of 13.08m on Sunday.
• On the track, senior Daniel Sunvold won the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:55.12. In the 800m, a pair of PRs were recorded as
Evan Graff and
Michela Hewitt raced to second place times of 1:53.63 and 2:17.38, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED | LOPER INVITATIONAL
• In the sprints,
Justice Mendoza won both the 100m and 200m with event winning times of 10.50s and 21.96s, respectively. Already a provisional qualifier for nationals in the 200m, Mendoza ran to the second fastest 100m provisional qualifying time in Division II and recorded the second fastest time in program history. After Mendoza took both the 100m and 200m, sophomore
Kayla Waterman repeated the same results for the Mountain Lions to sweep both events. Waterman won the 100m by racing to a first place time of 12.42s as she finished the 200m in 26.00s flat.
• A pair of event wins came in the hurdles as
Zaire Jackson and
Jalen Jordan bested the competition in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles, respectively. Jackson sprinted to the fourth fastest 110m hurdle time in school history as a time of 15.26s won the event. In her first event win of the outdoor season, Jordan ran to a first place time of 1:04.45.
• UCCS' event wins kept coming in as
Skye Ciccarelli registered a provisional mark of 2.05m to take first place in the high jump. Outdoor junior
Lydia Pavlenko jumped to the fifth best all-time high jump mark by clearing a mark of 1.63m to take third in the event.
• To wrap up what was a great outing for the Mountain Lions, graduate student
Will Ross garnered two events wins through the long jump and triple jump as he etched his name in the all-time rankings for the triple jump. The third best triple jump mark in school history belongs to Ross as a provisional jump of 14.85m won the event for the Colorado Springs native, while a mark of 7.07m place him first in the long jump.
