COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their athletes of the week on Wednesday as senior Kayla Zink was named RMAC Track Athlete of the Week and senior Hannah Meek was named RMAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.

After posting what was the sixth fastest 60m time in Division II last weekend, Kayla Zink topped her time by racing to an event winning time of 7.56s at UCCS Meet #3 on Saturday. Her improved 60m provisional qualifying time now ranks as the third fastest time in all of DII and best time in the conference. Zink was not finished there as she came back to win the 200m with a time of 25.13s, which currently stands as the fastest time in the RMAC.

Hannah Meek made another strong case for athlete of the week after posting a strong performance at the pits with two provisional marks and two event wins. In the long jump, Meek improved on her previous mark with a jump of 5.93m that ranks as the third best mark in Division II. At the triple jump, Meek once again improved on her previous mark with a leap of 12.33m to register the third best DII national mark. Not only does Meek hold the third best DII marks in both the long jump and triple jump, but she also holds the best long jump and triple marks in the conference.

UCCS Track & Field will return back to competition on Friday, Feb. 12 as they host the two-day Colorado Running Company UCCS Open.
