NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the fourth week of national rankings on Tuesday with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field women's team working back into the top-5 at No. 4 (109.14 points) as the men's team holds their previous ranking of No. 11 (67.46 points). The Mountain Lion women have cracked the top-5 for the second time this season, tying the program's highest national ranking.
 
Grand Valley State University's women's team (351.88 points) and men's team (230.58 points) both currently rank No. 1 in the country.
 
For the Mountain Lion men, nine student-athletes have posted a combined 10 provisional marks and two automatic qualifying marks in four meets this season with four marks ranking top-10 in the nation:

• Dakota Abbott (Triple Jump) – 4^th 15.24m/50' 0"
• Peter Ackah (Long Jump) – 2^nd 7.75m/25' 5.25"
• Peyton Turnage (Long Jump) – 6^th 7.34m/24' 1"
• Afewerki Zeru (5000m) – 10^th 14:01.24

On the women's side, 10 Mountain Lions have registered a total of 12 provisional marks and one automatic qualifying mark with seven of the marks ranking top-10 within Division II:

• Layla Almasri (Mile) – 6^th 4:50.55
• DMR (McGrath, Wenham, Hedlund, Almasri) – 5^th 11:46.48
• Hannah Ellis (5000m) – 6^th 16:57.17
• Hannah Meek (Long Jump) – 1^st 6.17mm/19' 5.5"
• Hannah Meek (Triple Jump) – 3^rd 12.33m/40' 5.5"
• Lydia Pavlenko (High Jump) – 8^th 1.72m/5' 7.75"
• Kayla Zink (60m) – 3^rd 7.51s

 
UCCS Track & Field will be off this upcoming weekend as they begin to make a strong push towards a repeat at RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships beginning Friday, Feb. 26 in Spearfish, S.D.
