KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team remains in the top-15 at No. 12 in the nation, as announced by United Soccer Coaches in their latest national poll on Tuesday.

Grand Valley State University receives the No. 1 spot in the country for the second straight week at an undefeated 9-0-1 record.

United Soccer Coaches college rankings, released every Tuesday during the regular season, are an indicator of the week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for championship selection. To be eligible for consideration in United Soccer Coaches college rankings, a school must be a member of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program.

UCCS (8-2, 3-1 RMAC) slides back five spots after going 1-1 last week with an impressive come from behind win against Westminster College in extra minutes, 3-2, and a loss to Colorado Mesa University on Sunday, 3-2. Despite the loss on Sunday, the Mountain Lions are tied for the third highest winning percentage in the South Central region (.800) and is the second highest nationally ranked team in the region behind Dallas Baptist at No. 8. Offensively, UCCS has been one of the top teams in the nation in multiple categories including total points (82, 5^th), total goals (29, 7^th), total assists (24, 6^th), and scoring offense (2.90, 16^th). The Mountain Lions also stand as the only team in the RMAC with three student-athletes that have four or more goals on the season (Tarah Patterson, Tori Maydew, and Jadyn LeDoux).

No. 12 UCCS is back at home again this week as they prepare to face Metropolitan State University of Denver on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. and Black Hills State University on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m.
