NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced All-Americans for the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season on Tuesday as the the University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field program gathered 18 All-America honors.
Normal policies dictate that All-America honors are awarded based on classifications of performance at the NCAA Championships, but due to the cancellation of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Executive Committee adjusted the criteria for All-America. Based on the posted startlist for the national championships announced by the NCAA, the following will be recognized as All-America for the 2020 indoor track & field season. In the individual events, all student-athletes listed on the startlist for the anticipated event receive All-America honors. For relay events, the four student-athletes per anticipated relay who produced the performance that was declared and accepted into their event will also receive All-America honors. There will not be a distinction of "first-team" or "second-team" to these recognitions.
Between 13 different Mountain Lions, the UCCS men's and women's track & field teams totaled their 18 All-American honors. Those 13 UCCS student-athletes include:
UCCS Men's Team
UCCS Women's Team
A total of 716 honors were handed out to 117 different institutions on Tuesday as the Mountain Lion women tied for the sixth most USTFCCCA All-America honors (12) for the 2020 NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field season.
