Track & Field Shows Presence in USTFCCCA National Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field teams each moved in the second week of the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings as they competed at the Mines Winter Classic & Multi and the UNM Team Open. The women's team moved up five slots to No. 12 with 69.95 points, while the men's team slid back three spots to No. 31 with 26.30 points.

On the women's side, Grand Valley State University tops the rankings with 203.93 points while Lincoln University ranks as the top men's team in DII with 149.35 points.

For the Mountain Lion men, nine student-athletes have posted 10 provisional marks so far this season with three of those marks ranking top-10 in the nation: On the women's side, five Mountain Lions have registered seven provisional marks with five of the marks ranking top-10 within Division II: UCCS' next meet comes this weekend as they host the Colorado Running Company Mountain Lion Open on both Friday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 8 inside Mountain Lion Fieldhouse. The first events are scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday with the men's weight throw, women's high jump, men's and women's long jump, and the women's 60m hurdles prelims.
