ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The University of Colorado Colorado Springs Track & Field program competed in WashU Invite on Saturday where a small group of Mountain Lions was led by
Layla Almasri who took one event for UCCS.
In the women's 1500m,
Layla Almasri claimed the event with a top time of 4:42.64.
Ellie Enderle trailed right behind her as she finished with a third place time of 4:54.71 in a field of 31 competitors.
The Mountain Lions continued to get it done as freshman
Evan Graff was the top UCCS runner with a sixth place time of 4:07.81 in the men's 1500m. Sophomores
Charlie Kieffer and Matt Schramm also made their way into the top-15 with an eighth (4:11.24) and 14th (4:20.62) place finish respectively.
To wrap up the WashU Invite, UCCS recorded 12 top-20 finishes among Division I, Division II, Division II, and junior college competition over the weekend.
UCCS will hit the road to Canyon, Texas next week to compete in the West Texas A&M Classic & Multi, hosted by West Texas A&M University on Friday, Apr. 5 and Sunday, Apr. 6.
