COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a record breaking weekend for University of Colorado Colorado Springs' Skylyn Webb, she has now been selected as United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the week, as well as Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

Senior Skylyn Webb laced up and was ready to race as she sprinted ahead to register a time of 2:04.68 in the women's 800m. Her time goes down as another automatic qualifying mark, but more importantly, Webb now owns the NCAA Division II Indoor 800m record. Webb's time changes to 2:03.87 for altitude conversion and currently stands as the fastest time in the nation by almost a second and a half.

Webb broke Cedarville University's Carsyn Koch's record time of 2:05.65 that was set back in Mar. 11 of 2017.

This week's awards marks Webb's second RMAC award this season, and the first time in program history that a Mountain Lion has earned National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season. UCCS Track & Field now has their fourth consecutive week of having a Mountain Lion tabbed RMAC Athlete of the Week.

The Mountain Lions will host their final meet of the 2018-19 indoor season this weekend with the two-day Colorado Running Company Mountain Lion Open on Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9.
