THIS WEEK
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team will open their 2019 season at home against Adams State University in a non-conference match.  Action is set to begin at 12 p.m. from Mountain Lion Stadium.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN LIONS  
UCCS received 33 points and were picked seventh in the 2019 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
The Mountain Lions closed out last season with a 7-10 overall record and a 2-7 conference record, finishing eighth overall in the conference standings.
 
Entering their third year as a NCAA program, the Mountain Lions return 15 letterwinners from the 2018 season, including 11 of the 12 starters.  Five Mountain Lions garnered all-conference honors led by Natalie Church who was voted the 2018 RMAC Freshman of the Year, while Madison EllisBrianna MartinezSydney Malcolm and Ellie O'Brien were named 2018 RMAC Honorable Mention.

SCOUTING ADAMS STATE UNIVERISTY
Saturday also marks the season opener for the Adams State.
 
The Grizzlies tallied 10 points in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' poll. The Grizzlies finished 3-10 during the 2018 season with a 1-8 mark against RMAC opponents. With just three players returning from last season in Alexis Wellong, Savannah Penland and Hannah Vigil, the Grizzlies will look to a new cast of players on the field.
 
WEATHER FORECAST
The forecast for Saturday in Colorado Springs is expected to be in the mid-40's with winds blowing out of the West from 15-25 mph, and as high as 40 mph wind gusts.

UP NEXT
UCCS will remain at home for their next contest on Saturday, Feb. 23 against Regis University.  The non-conference match will start at 1 p.m.
