Women's Golf Spring Opener Shortened by Rain

The Mountain Lions played one round at the Otter Invitational in Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team start their spring season with a 15th place finish at the rain-shortened Otter Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay.

Alex Darwin led the Mountain Lions as she finished tied for 16th overall with a +4 over par performance after shooting a 75.

Timbrelee McNair, McKenna Vanko, and Julia Baroth all finished tied for 72nd by shooting an 81.

As a team, UCCS shot a combined 318, finishing just one stroke behind RMAC rivals Colorado Mesa.

The team is back in action next weekend when they compete in the CSU-Pueblo Invitational at Walking Stick Golf Club.
