UCCS Track & Field Competes in Mines Alumni Classic and Multi

GOLDEN, Colo. – The University of Colorado Coloardo Springs track & field teams competed in their first meet of the 2018-19 indoor season as the Mountain Lions traveled to Golden, Colo. to compete in the Mines Alumni Classic & Multi, hosted by Colorado School of Mines at Steinhauer Fieldhouse.

Five Mountain Lions represented UCCS in Golden today with Kaija Crowe, Aleksandra Anderson, Ella McKinna-Worrell and Hannah Meek competing in the pentathlon, while Sam Repsher competed in the heptathlon.
Crowe climbed the standings to place third out of 23 competitors in the pentathlon after finishing top five in three of the events.  Her 3,739 points provisionally qualified her for the national meet. In the long jump, Crowe placed second with a distance of 5.91m (19'4.75") which helped her register a provisional mark.

McKinna-Worrell and Meek recorded their best finish of the meet in the long jump as well, with Meek placing fourth (5.65m) and Mckinna-Worrell finishing 13th (5.12m).

In the 60m hurdles, Anderson came on strong to record a time of 9.34 to place her 10th in the competition.

Repsher set the tone early as he sprinted to a second place finish in the 60m with a time of 7.03.  He is currently sitting in eighth place out of 19 competitors with 2,687 points. Repsher will compete in the final three events (60m, Pole Vault, 1000m) on Friday, beginning with the 60m hurdles at 11 a.m.
