Alex Darwin recorded an eagle on the par-4 hole seven to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with a 77 today on the final day of the Ranger Invitational at the Murphy Creek Golf Course.
Forre Zook led the Mountain Lions for the tournament with a tie for No. 18 in the overall standings.
Darwin was one of four golfers to record an eagle in the tournament and recorded her best round of the early season today. She improved by 11 strokes from yesterday's round and finished in a tie for No. 27 with a two-round score of 165 for 21-over par.
Zook lowered her score by three strokes from yesterday's round with a 79 today in her second top-20 finish of the season. She made a birdie on hole six and finished the front nine with a 1-over 37. Zook ranked fifth among the 74 golfers with four birdies this week and finished with a tournament score of 161 for 17-over.
Raquell Castillo turned in an 84 today and finished one spot behind Darwin in the overall results with a 22-over 166.
Timbrelee McNair rounded out the team score with an 86 today and placed No. 33 overall with a 167.
Brianna Vetter improved her score today with an 89 and tied for No. 49 overall with a tournament card of 179.
The Mountain Lions improved by seven strokes today with a 38-over 326. UCCS finished eight strokes behind the fifth place teams of Colorado State-Pueblo and Western New Mexico. The tournament counted as the first of two RMAC events, which will be used for seeding in the spring championship tournament.
UCCS will be off for the next two weeks before the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Stampede Oct. 3-4 in Amarillo, Texas.
