BOULDER, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs senior
Kyle McCloskey provisionally qualified in the 1,500-meter run with the second-best time in program history to lead the Mountain Lions at the Colorado Invitational today at Potts Field.
David Kimaiyo ran the third-best time in program history while
Corey Brown ran the fifth-best 3,000-meter time later in the day.
McCloskey's time of 3 minutes, 55.78 seconds, will adjust down to a 3:50.16 sea level time for NCAA qualifying. It's an improvement of almost four seconds from his personal-best time from last week's San Francisco State Distance Carnival. Kimaiyo finished in 3:57.93 for a converted 3:52.26 and the third-fastest time in program history.
Corey Brown led six Mountain Lions in the 3,000-meter run with 8:58.03 for a ninth-place overall finish. It's the fifth-fastest adjusted time in program history at 8:43.46. He finished fourth among collegiate runners and second among Division II runners.
