COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
David Kimaiyo led three University of Colorado Colorado Springs runners who ran five of the top seven times in the 3,000-meter run in program history in today's dual with Colorado College at Washburn Field. Kimaiyo won the race in eight minutes, 58.5 seconds for an altitude-adjusted time of 8:40.69.
The Mountain Lions swept the top six positions in the 3,000-meter run.
Kyle McCloskey finished in 9:00.1 and his sea level time of 8:42.23 is the fourth-best in program history.
Corey Brown placed third with 9:08.5 and has the seventh-fastest time in history when adjusted down to 8:50.35.
Seth Polich,
Chad Glover and
Ben Patzer rounded out the 1-6 sweep for UCCS.
McCloskey led off the 4x400-meter relay and Kimaiyo anchored the relay in a winning time of 3:36.0.
Willie Moore and
Travis Anderson ran the two middle portions of the relay after the two went 1-2 in the 800-meter run. Anderson ran 2:01.9 to win while Moore finished in 2:07.5 in his runner-up performance.
The Mountain Lions will be back at Colorado College next week for the CC Invitational on March 26.
