ALAMOSA, Colo. –
Forre Zook matched her season-best with a 6-over 78 and led the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team on the first day of the RMAC South event at Cattails Golf Course. The Mountain Lions stand seventh among the 13 teams with a 37-over 325.
Zook made a birdie on the par-3 hole six near the end of her round and finished with her best score since the first round of the season in Pueblo, Colo. She is in a tie for No. 11 overall and on pace for her best placement of the fall season.
Timbrelee McNair came in one stroke behind Zook today with a 7-over 79. She made a pair of birdies and was 2-over on the front nine.
Raquell Castillo finished with an 11-over 83 while
Alex Darwin and
Megan Vernon tied for the final team score with an 85.
The Mountain Lions are five strokes behind fourth-place Colorado Christian, with Colorado State-Pueblo and Colorado Mesa between UCCS and Colorado Christian. Regis is leading the tournament with a team score of 306 for 18 strokes over par.
UCCS will be paired with CSU-Pueblo, Colorado Christian and Westminster in tomorrow's final round on holes five through nine. The shotgun start will be at 11 a.m.
