Forre Zook led the Mountain Lions with a 78 today as UCCS improved by 17 strokes and improved to seventh in the final round of Samuel Proal Farmers Insurance Invitational at the Pueblo Country Club. The Mountain Lions shot a team score of 316 for 32-over-par.
Zook improved by six strokes from yesterday's round and her 78 matches the second-best round of her collegiate career. She finished in a tie for No. 24 with a two-round score of 162, one stroke off of her best tournament score.

Raquell Castillo both turned in 79s today in a six-stroke improvement for
Jamie Zook and 10-stroke improvement for Castillo from yesterday.
Alex Darwin shot an 80 to close out the Mountain Lion team score and led the team with a two-round score of 155 for a No. 11 overall finish.
The Mountain Lions passed Western New Mexico and Regis in the second round and had the sixth-best team score in the round among the 13 teams. UCCS finished with a two-round score of 649 and 81-over-par, a 13-stroke improvement from the season-opening tournament of 2014.
UCCS will compete next week on Sept. 14-15 in the first RMAC event of the season at Fox Hill Golf Club in Longmont, Colo.
