PUEBLO, Colo. – Travis Anderson ran a season-best time to place No. 11 in the 800-meter run as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's track and field team finished competition in the first day of the 2015 RMAC Outdoor Championships at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl. The Mountain Lions turned in six top-20 finishes today.

Anderson ran 1 minute, 55.80 seconds and was third in his heat. His sea level time of 1:55.22 is an improvement of five-hundredths of a second on his season-best time. Teammate Justin Bills finished third in his heat and placed one spot behind Anderson in the overall results with 1:57.26 for a career-best adjusted time of 11:56.67.

Mitch Klomp ran his first 10,000-meter run of his outdoor career with 33:36.18. He placed No. 19 and his time with convert down to 32:38.24. Matt Winfrey led four Mountain Lions in the 1,500-meter run with 4:08.70 to place No. 20. Caleb Simons and Ricardo Malta represented UCCS in the sprints, with Simons No. 18 in the 400-meter dash with 51.14 seconds and Malta No. 20 with 11.70 seconds in the 100-meter dash.

The Mountain Lions will continue action again on Saturday in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles at 4:25 p.m. UCCS will only compete in the three preliminary events on Saturday in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash.
