Zook Leads Mountain Lions on Final Day of Regional Preview

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – Forre Zook led the University of Colorado Colorado Springs for the second straight round with her second straight score of 86 as the Mountain Lions finished No. 19 at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational / Regional Preview at Foxtail Golf Club. UCCS improved by nine strokes from yesterday's first round with a 351.

Zook led the Mountain Lions in a tournament for the first time in her career and improved her tournament score by two strokes from the UCCS Invitational last week. She tied for No. 74 overall with a 172 in a field with 11 teams nationally-ranked by GolfStat.

Raquell Castillo and Alex Darwin each turned in scorecards of 88 and improved on their first round scores from Monday. Castillo lowered her score on the front nine by five strokes to a 7-over 43, and lowered her overall stroke by one to finish the tournament with a 177. Darwin cut two strokes off yesterday's score with par on seven holes and finished with a two-round score of 178.

Amanda Crites lowered her second round score by six strokes with an 89 to close out the Mountain Lion team score today. She improved by five strokes on the back nine and avoided anything more than a double bogey, which occurred only three times, in route to a 184.

UCCS will close out the regular season at the Colorado Mesa Invitational April 13-14 at Redlands Mesa Golf Course in Grand Junction, Colo.
