Forre Zook hit a hole-in-one and led the Mountain Lions with an 86 after the first round of the Sonoma State Spring Invitational / Regional Preview at Foxtail Golf Club. The Mountain Lions are No. 19 in a field that includes 11 teams nationally-ranked in the latest GolfStat ranking.
Zook hit the hole-in-one on the par-3, 113-yard hole 6. She finished the front nine with a 3-over 39. Zook's 86 was her best opening round for a tournament this spring and the best since the second RMAC event in September 2014.Â
Raquell Castillo overcame a tough performance on the front nine to put together a 5-over 41 on the back nine. She scored an 89 in today's round and has turned in a performance below 90 for the fourth straight round.
Alex Darwin shot a 90 in today's round with three pars on the back nine.
Amanda Crites and
Jamie Zook both shot a 95 in today's round to close out the Mountain Lion team score. Crites recorded a birdie on hole 9 and recorded par on five holes, while
Jamie Zook hit for par on three straight holes and finished the front nine with a 43.
