Teammate Nick Lemley finished in fifth with 1:01.86 in his first hurdle day of the outdoor season. He also finished second in his heat and eighth overall in the 110-meter hurdles earlier in the day with 16.95 seconds.

Lemley and Buchanan joined Caleb Simons and Ricardo Malta in the 4x100-meter relay for a runner-up finish in 44.25 seconds. Malta finished No. 15 in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, while Simons was No. 14 in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes to lead the Mountain Lion sprinters.
