White Earns Spot on NABC All-Region First Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs All-American Derrick White earned a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-South Central Region First Team this morning. It's the second time he has earned all-region accolades from the coaches association.

White earned a Daktronics All-America Second Team award this morning from the sports information directors. He was also a member of the Daktronics All-Region First Team, the All-South Central Tournament Team, the All-RMAC First Team and was the Most Valuable Player of the RMAC Tournament. He was a two-time national player of the week and an eight-time conference player of the week.

White led the nation with 851 points and 247 made free throws, and led the region with 25.8 points per game, 2.24 steals per game, 171 assists, 265 made field goals and 74 steals. He holds the UCCS career scoring record with 1,912 points, the UCCS and RMAC season scoring record at 851 points, and the UCCS single-game record with 50 points in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. He broke his own season scoring average record by more than three points per game, and is on pace to break the career scoring average record with 22.0 points per game.

White also holds the UCCS career record with 343 assists and the season record with 171. He recorded 11 assists three games to tie for third in UCCS single-game records. White is fourth in UCCS records with 513 career rebounds and his 244 this season was fifth in the record books.

UCCS won its first RMAC Tournament championship and won its first NCAA tournament game in program history. The Mountain Lions were ranked as high as No. 2 in the NABC Division II poll, started the season with a program-record 14 game winning streak and set a program record with 27 wins.
