MESA, Ariz. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs improved its second round by nine strokes to 334 and finished seventh in the Fort Hays State Spring Thaw at the Dobson Ranch.
Alex Darwin led the Mountain Lions with a 167 in the two rounds for 23 strokes over par.
Darwin hit an 82 in yesterday's opening round and an 85 today to tie for No. 22 in the overall standings. She was among the top 10 golfers among the 70 in the field on par five holes

Forre Zook improved by nine strokes in today's round with an 80 in her second-best round of the season and tied for No. 28 in the overall standings with a 169 with teammate
Amanda Crites. Crites shot an 86 and an 83 in the first and second rounds, respectively, for her tournament score of 169. The two also finished with a pair of birdies each
Jamie Zook recorded an 86 in yesterday's round for the final UCCS team score on Monday.
Raquell Castillo improved by eight strokes today to an 86 in final team score today as UCCS went from a 343 to a 334 between the two rounds.
UCCS will be at home for its next tournament at Pine Creek Golf Course March 28-29.
