GUNNISON, Colo. –
Kyle McCloskey finished sixth in the 800-meter run and improved his NCAA provisional qualifying time as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's track and field team finished competition at the 2015 RMAC Indoor Championships today. McCloskey's adjusted time of 1 minute, 52.35 seconds put him into No. 27 in the Division II performance lists.
The Mountain Lions scored four points in the event between McCloskey and
Carson Aberle's eighth-place performance. The duo also joined with
Travis Anderson and
Ryan Buchanan to earn points in the 4x400-meter relay later in the day with 3:29.13.
David Kimaiyo finished eighth in the 3,000-meter run with 9:01.92, and his adjusted time of 8:28.91 was within five seconds of his season-best in the event. He was the top freshman in the event.
UCCS finished No. 10 in the team standings with six points. The Mountain Lions will wait until Tuesday to learn on selections for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships that will take place March 13-14 in Birmingham, Ala.
