ALLENDALE, Mich. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's distance medley relay team came within a second of an NCAA provisional qualifying time in a fifth-place finish at the Grand Valley State Big Meet today. The Mountain Lions ran in 10 minutes, 8.24 records.

Kyle McCloskey, Ryan Buchanan, Carson Aberle and David Kimaiyo finished 0.72 seconds off of the provisional qualifying time. The Mountain Lions will unofficially remain No. 24 in the Division II performance lists with two weeks left to run qualifying times for the national championships.

UCCS will compete in its final non-championship meet of the indoor season at the Joe Davies Open Feb. 20-21 at Colorado School of Mines. It will be the last meet before the RMAC Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28 at Western State.
