GOLDEN, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's distance medley relay team missed the NCAA provisional qualifying mark by less than two seconds to open the Colorado School of Mines Division II Invitational today at Steinhauer Fieldhouse. The Mountain Lions finished fifth with a time of 10:32.33.

Kyle McCloskey, Ryan Buchanan, Carson Aberle and David Kimaiyo ran the 1,200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter and 1,600-meter legs, respectively. It was a field made up entirely of RMAC teams, including Colorado State-Pueblo in its first season of men's track and field competition.

Ricardo Malto ran 7.53 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash earlier today. He improved his season best by five-hundredths of a second.
