BOULDER, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs All-American
Carson Aberle won the 600-yard run in one minute, 13.73 seconds in the first meet of the 2015 year for the Mountain Lions at the CU Boulder Potts Indoor Invitational today. Aberle won by nearly a quarter-second ahead of another 800-meter national qualifier, Garrett Hoch of Colorado School of Mines.
Aberle, an All-American in the indoor 800-meter run last season, ran the fastest 600-yard time in program history with his performance today.
Kyle McCloskey finished third in the fast heat of Aberle and Hoch, and fourth overall, with his 1:16.22.
Travis Anderson won his heat and was sixth overall in 1:18.32, and
Justin Bills turned in 1:18.83 to finish eighth overall.
UCCS will be on the track next week for the second of four indoor meets this season at Colorado Mines. The Orediggers will host the Twilight Open Jan. 23-24 at Steinhauer Fieldhouse.
