Regis extends soccer team's skid

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs soccer team lost its fifth straight match Sunday afternoon, 2-1 to the Regis Rangers at Regis Field.

After a scoreless first half, Regis University (3-5-0 overall, 3-3-0 RMAC) tallied the initial score of the match when Jose Rosales scored his second goal of the season just 46 seconds into the second period. Regis added a second score just over five minutes later when Sven Trautmann knocked in a Mike Smith pass for what proved to be the game-winner.

CU-Colorado Springs cut its deficit in half with Marcus Reynolds' first career goal at 61:40, which was aided by an Oscar Velasco assist. It was Reynolds' first career match at forward after having played defender in his first six appearances. He took three shots, two of which were on goal.

The goal ended a 258 minute, 2 second scoring drought for CU-Colorado Springs (1-6-0, 1-5-0 RMAC).

Chris Hovasse allowed both goals, making five saves before being relieved in the 58th minute. James Bjorklund made two saves the rest of the way.
