GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association announced Friday the selections of the organization's First, Second and Third Team All-American athletes, with
Bryce Peterson and
Trevor Dale both named to the First Team at second base and shortstop, respectively.
The ABCA/Rawlings All-America teams are selected by members of the ABCA All-America committees, with only ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections eligible for All-America honors. The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DII All-Region teams were announced Tuesday.
Rudy Garbalosa of Lynn University serves as Chair of the ABCA NCAA DII All-America & Coach of the Year Committee. Committee members also include Jim Gantt (Catawba College), Rick Giannetti (Dominican University),
Dave Hajek (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs), Ryan Kelley (Wayne State University), Alex Koch (Wayne State College), Marc Marizzaldi (Seton Hill University) and Paul Svagdis (Westmont College).
Bryce Peterson was on of the premier average hitters in the nation this spring, while also providing a power threat from the heart of the Mountain Lions order. Peterson checked in for a tie for second in all of Division II hard ball with 92 hits on the season, slashing at a .423 average, while adding 17 homers over 53 games, with 52 starts at second base. His first season in the middle of the diamond after moving from third base, Peterson was reliable as he compiled a .963 fielding percentage with 83 putouts, and 151 assists.
Trevor Dale enjoyed a breakout season at shortstop for the Mountain Lions, after reclaiming his spot from last season after he began the year at third base. Dale posed his biggest threat at the plate this season, as he checked in first in Division II (2
nd in all of NCAA baseball) with a program record 27 home runs, while being second in the country in slugging percentage with a .936 mark. The three time RMAC Player of the Week was also in the top ten in the country in Total Bases (3
rd, 175), and Triples (7
th, 6).
"I could not be more proud of Bryce at Trevor," shared UCCS Head Baseball Coach
Dave Hajek. "These two young men came into the program last year and absolutely changed the culture and work ethic of our team immediately. It's always great to see hard work pay off, and this is what we are seeing now as these two are getting rewarded on a national level."
The selections mark the first All-Americans in the program since
Kit Wigington was named in 2022, with Peterson and Dale being the first athletes to earn First Team selections from three different organizations in program history.
