NEW ORLEANS, La. – Heading into this weekend's outdoor national championship meet, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's track & field team landed a No. 24 ranking in the Week 8 United States Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index with 80.58 TFRI points.
In the Pre-Championships Edition of the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index, only marks from athletes who will be competing at the NCAA Division II Championships this weekend were used in the objective calculation.
After a one-week hiatus from the No. 1 position, Pittsburg State University reclaimed the top spot in the national rankings with 449.10 TFRI points, while Grand Valley State University slipped one spot to No. 2 with 412.51 TFRI points. Colorado School of Mines was the highest-ranked institution from the RMAC as they came in at No. 5 with 233.24 TFRI points, while Adams State University checked in at No. 12 with 166.05 TFRI points and Colorado State University Pueblo landed at No. 21 with 91.11 TFRI points.
The UCCS men's track & field program is set to have 10 student-athletes competing across six individual entries and one relay entry at this weekend's outdoor national championship.
