COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team had a pair of student-athletes earn recognition on the 2026 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-South Central Region Teams on Monday morning, with junior
Jennavieve Goldsworth and sophomore
Tayler McCombs both being voted to the second team.
West Texas A&M University's Jordan De Los Santos was selected as the South Central Player of the Year, while Texas Woman's University's Randi Crawford was voted as the region's Pitcher of the Year.
The D2CCA All-South Central Region Teams and Regional Players of the Year were nominated and voted on by the Sports Information Directors from the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
Goldsworth collects the first all-region accolade of her collegiate career as a second team utility player after posting an incredible junior season in which she led the Mountain Lions in nearly every major offensive category, posting a .472 batting average with a program record 92 hits to go along with 18 doubles, eight home runs, and 39 stolen bases. The native of Roseville, Calif. established herself as one of the RMAC's top offensive players in her third season wearing the black and gold as she led the league in batting average and stolen bases while ranking second in the conference in runs, hits, doubles, and on-base percentage. On the national stage, Goldsworth recorded the fifth-most hits and tied for the eighth-most runs scored in all of NCAA Division II while also finishing inside the top 20 in batting average and stolen bases. Across the first three seasons of her collegiate career, Goldsworth has started each of the 144 games she has appeared in, recording a .381 batting average with 176 hits, 115 runs scored, 52 extra-base hits, and 52 stolen bases.
Joining Goldsworth as another first-time all-region honoree, McCombs debuts as a member of the second team coming off a sophomore season in which she registered a .375 batting average with 10 doubles, two triples, four home runs, and 34 RBIs as the Mountain Lions' primary designated player. On the back of an impressive 30-game on-base streak that lasted from March 7 through May 1, McCombs finished the season ranked third on the team with a .441 on-base percentage while sitting fourth in batting average, RBIs, and walks (15). The native of Gilbert. Ariz. has put together a stellar start to her collegiate career at UCCS as she holds a .390 batting average and .451 on-base percentage with 115 hits, 26 doubles, seven triples, nine home runs, 32 walks, and 68 RBIs across her first two seasons.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
