5/12/2026 1:00:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs Head Women's Basketball Coach Misty Wilson has announced the addition of seven student-athletes to the Mountain Lions program for the 2026-27 season. The incoming class features a blend of collegiate transfers and high school talent from across the region.

The seven new additions of Aziza Abdur-Razaaq (Thornton, Colo.), Summya Adigun (Hugoton, Kan.), Brittany Booker (Denver, Colo.), Evyn Eppinga (Anoka, Minn.), D'Ajha Horton (Aurora, Colo.), Ca'Nia Mitchell (Amarillo, Texas), and Aspen Salazar (Las Cruces, N.M.) join Braeden Johnson (Salida, Colo.) who signed with the Mountain Lions earlier this year.

Aziza Abdur-Razaaq joins the Mountain Lions following a successful prep career at Riverdale Ridge High School after previously attending Overland High School. She averaged 7.9 points, 3.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game during her senior campaign.

A four-year varsity letterwinner, Abdur-Razaaq earned Rocky Mountain League All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and was a four-year Honor Roll recipient.

"Aziza comes to us from a very successful program in Riverdale Ridge," said Wilson. "One thing that stood out to us about Aziza is her desire to be pushed in an effort to be great. She is a high energy player and defender. She also has the potential to be a versatile scorer. I am looking forward to coaching Aziza and seeing how quickly she learns our systems and is able to turn that into success."

Summya Adigun arrives at UCCS following an accomplished collegiate career at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where she earned a degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice-Corrections. In 2025-26, she averaged 9.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 39 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the arc, and 84 percent at the free throw line.

A member of the 2026 GAC All-Tournament Team, Adigun helped lead NWOSU to its first-ever Division II era GAC Conference Championship and National Tournament appearance. Off the court, she excelled academically as a two-time GAC Elite Scholar Award recipient and member of the President's Honor Roll from 2023-26.

Prior to college, Adigun starred at Hugoton High School, where she averaged 14.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. A four-year varsity letterwinner and valedictorian, she earned multiple First Team All-State honors and helped guide her team to three Final Four appearances and a state runner-up finish in 2022.

"Summya is a player that is accustomed to winning; her experience and willingness to do whatever it takes to win stood out to us in the recruiting process," commented Wilson. "Summya's ability to find the open player, make the right play, and score consistently is something that will add a new dimension to our offense. Summya brings a level of toughness and passion to our team, and I can't wait to see how that translates to success on the court."

Brittany Booker joins the Mountain Lions after a standout career at George Washington High School. The 2026 graduate averaged 17.9 points per game during her senior season while totaling 286 points in 16 contests. Booker shot 39 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from three-point range, and 70.7 percent from the free throw line while adding 46 rebounds and 14 assists.

"I am excited to coach Brittany as I believe she has the potential to be a great college basketball player," commented Wilson. "The skillset Brittany has translates well to our offensive system and she has the athletic ability to be a very good defender for us. We have seen her basketball IQ in motion while she was playing for George Washington HS and think her understanding of the game will serve her well in her transition to the college game."

Evyn Eppinga transfers to UCCS after two seasons at Bemidji State University. Following a redshirt season as a freshman, she emerged as one of the team's top contributors in 2025-26, starting 25-of-26 games and leading the squad in minutes played (819) and scoring (371 points, 14.3 ppg).  She also totaled 48 three-pointers, 92 rebounds, 44 assists, and 21 steals while earning Bemidji State Female Newcomer of the Year honors.

"Evyn is a proven scorer that we believe will help us replace some of the scoring we lost," commented Wilson. "Evyn shoots 38 percent from the three-point line, has a quick first step, is elite at finishing around the rim, and loves to play at the pace we play. She is a fierce competitor and her personality and passion is reflective of my own. I believe Evyn is going to thrive in our system and be a force to reckon with in the RMAC."

D'Ajha Horton comes to Colorado Springs after collegiate stops at Missouri Valley College and the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. During the 2025-26 season, Horton played in 23 games with four starts while shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range. She averaged 4.7 points per game and converted 75 percent of her free throw attempts.
A 2024 graduate of Rangeview High School, Horton competed in Colorado's CHSAA 6A classification.

"D'Ajha's versatility stood out to us in the recruiting process," said Wilson. "Her ability to stretch the floor and use her size off the dribble makes her a tough defend. We believe D'Ajha has the ability to guard all positions on the floor which fits our defensive philosophy perfectly. I am excited to get D'Ajha back to her home state of Colorado and get to work."

Ca'Nia Mitchell joins the Mountain Lions after an outstanding freshman campaign at Wayland Baptist University. She averaged 15.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 2.4 steals per game while shooting 51.2 percent from the field. Her impressive season earned Freshman of the Year honors, Second Team All-Conference recognition, All-Defensive Team honors, and a spot on the All-Freshman Team.

Before college, Mitchell enjoyed a decorated career at Amarillo High School, helping lead her team to multiple district, area, and regional championships. As a senior, she averaged 12.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 45.2 percent from three-point range. Mitchell also earned TGCA All-State honors, Golden Spread All-Star MVP recognition, and multiple academic honors.

"Ca'Nia is the complete point guard," said Wilson. "She embodies all the traits we want in a floor general. She understands the responsibility of the point guard position, has a pass first mentality, but can also score the basketball. Additionally, Ca'Nia is a willing defender and has instincts that I believe we will be able to maximize in our defensive system. I am thrilled that Ca'Nia chose UCCS and even more thrilled to see the strides she makes and what we can accomplish together during her time here."

Aspen Salazar brings Division I and RMAC experience to the UCCS backcourt. After beginning her collegiate career at UTEP in 2023-24, she spent the next two seasons at New Mexico Highlands University, where she averaged 10.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game en route to RMAC Honorable Mention recognition.

At Centennial High School, Salazar established herself as one of New Mexico's top players, averaging 19.9 points per game as a senior while ranking third in the state's 5A classification. She also ranked second in assists with 4.7 per game and earned District 3-5A Player of the Year honors along with All-State First Team recognition.

"I am excited to be on the same team as Aspen after playing against her for the last couple of years," said Wilson. "Aspen is a player that takes great pride in playing on both sides of the ball and that is something we were intentional in finding during this recruiting process. With her size and skill set, Aspen will be able to cause some mismatch problems for our opponents. I can't wait to see the impact she makes this year."

The Mountain Lions closed the 2025-26 season with a 22-11 overall record and the No. 2 seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament with a 15-5 league record.  UCCS made their third straight appearance in the RMAC Championship Tournament title game, and received the No. 4 seed to the No. NCAA South Central Regional tournament.
