CLEVELAND, Ohio – Following a historic fall season and a strong showing in winter competition, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs continued its momentum in the 2025-26 Learfield Directors' Cup standings, adding 50 points during the winter championship season.
UCCS, which qualified all five fall programs for the NCAA postseason and led all Division II institutions in the fall standings, now owns 289.5 total points through two seasons. The Mountain Lions are currently ranked 13th nationally, as announced Thursday morning by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
The UCCS women's basketball team accounted for all 50 winter points after compiling a 22-11 overall record and earning its second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. The Mountain Lions finished second in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season standings with a 15-5 mark, advanced to their third straight RMAC Championship game, and secured the No. 4 seed in the NCAA South Central Regional.
UCCS opened the regional with a 67-62 win over Adams State University before falling to top-seeded and No. 1 Texas Woman's University, 70-59, in the semifinal round.
Grand Valley State University currently leads all Division II institutions with 790.5 points following its women's basketball national championship.
Thirteen RMAC schools have earned points in the Learfield Directors' Cup Standings. Joining UCCS in the top 15 of the standings through the winter season is No. 2 Colorado School of Mines (550 points), No. 4 Colorado Mesa University (529.5 points), and No. 7 Adams State University (410.5 points).
The Learfield Directors' Cup, a joint effort between NACDA and
USA Today, awards points based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. Final standings, which will include results from the spring championship season, will be released June 9, 2026.
