COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced Tuesday the first set of weekly awards for the 2026 baseball season, with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions sweeping the honors.
Trevor Dale takes home the Player of the Week award after a dazzling weekend offensively, with
Gerrit Erickson earning the Pitcher of the Week nod after a five inning win over Fort Hays State on Saturday.
Trevor Dale picks up his first career Player of the Week highlight after powering the Mountain Lions offense in their opening series against Fort Hays State. Dale hit safely in five of his nine at bats on the weekend, with four of his hits leaving the yard. Dale's only hit that did not allow for a trot came in the seventh inning on Sunday when the Redshirt-Junior tripled off the wall in center field, coming into score on a sacrifice fly the next at bat. Dale tallied eight RBIs to lead the team while scoring five runs himself.
Gerrit Erickson also earns his first weekly honor as the Pitcher of the Week following a dominant five inning performance to pick up UCCS' first win of the 2026 season on Saturday. Erickson took the baseball for game two of the series, allowing just one run and three hits over his five frames. Erickson fanned three hitters, finishing with a 1.80 ERA on the afternoon. Erickson also showed his defensive prowess, snaring a one-hop come-backer before spinning to second to start the 1-4-3 double play to end the Tiger's fourth inning. The San Diego native now owns a 1-0 record and sits tied for second in the RMAC for ERA through the first weekend of the year.
The Mountain Lions continue their home stand with a three game series with Minnesota Crookston this weekend, with first pitch set for 2 p.m. Friday at Mountain Lion Stadium. For full schedule and game day information visit GoMountainLions.com.
