Michael Roberts of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's track & field team has been voted as the Week 6 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
Roberts collects the first weekly conference award of his collegiate career after putting forth a huge performance in the men's weight throw on Saturday at the CRC Mountain Lion Open. The senior from Arvada, Colo. unleashed a monster toss of 20.39m that placed him first overall out of 19 throwers in the competition while shattering the UCCS men's program record and Mountain Lion Fieldhouse facility record in the event. Roberts' personal best mark of 20.39m currently ranks first overall in the RMAC and 10
th in all of NCAA Division II.
The Mountain Lions will compete at a pair of last chance meets this weekend with the track athletes heading to the Colorado Last Chance in Boulder, Colo. on Friday, Feb. 20 and a small group of throwers making their way to Gunnison, Colo. for the Last Chance RMAC Qualifier.
