HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jorgens, who entered the women's hammer throw competition as the No. 20 seed in the field, provided one of the biggest highlights of the day as she unleashed a personal best and school record mark of 56.85m to finish eighth overall and collect First Team All-America honors for the first time in her collegiate career.
- UCCS added another All-America accolade in the women's 10,000m as senior Anna Fauske earned second team recognition with an 11th place finish at a raw time of 36:00.99.
- In the preliminary round of the men's 1500m, redshirt junior Jagger Zlotoff posted the fifth-fastest overall time in the prelim field at a raw time of 3:52.72 to secure his spot in Saturday's event final.
- Junior Sebastien Jean was the 15th overall finisher in the preliminary round of the men's 400m dash as he raced to a raw time of 47.19s
- In the men's pole vault, redshirt senior Caiden Macktinger cleared his first attempted bar height at 4.97m before falling out of the competition with a trio of misses at 5.12m to finish in a four-way tie for 13th.
- The Mountain Lions' 4x100m relay team of Daryn Ofori-Kuragu, Kymani Sterling, Donovan Mini, and Jean circled the track in a raw time of 40.43s, finishing sixth in their heat and 12th overall in the preliminary round while coming up just shy of qualifying for Saturday's final in the event.
- Competing in the second flight of the men's hammer throw, senior Luke Hard posted a mark of 57.42m to finish 17th overall.
- In her outdoor national championship debut, redshirt senior Rachel Richtman went on to finish 20th overall in the women's 3,000m Steeplechase with a raw time of 11:28.24.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- With her school record toss of 56.85m in the women's hammer throw, Jorgens became the first UCCS women's student-athlete in program history to earn First Team All-America accolades in a throwing event.

- The Mountain Lions will have competitors in three different events tomorrow for day two of the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships with senior Victoria Malaki getting the action started at 2 p.m. in the women's discus throw followed by junior Kyle Demos in the men's discus throw at 5 p.m. and the preliminary round of the men's 4x400m relay at 8:05 p.m.
