Weather Forces Several Weekend Schedule Changes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Spring storms that will be moving through Colorado and the Midwest have forced multiple schedule changes for all five of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs spring programs.

The Mountain Lions women's lacrosse team is slated to host Colorado State University Pueblo on Friday, April 4 at 4 p.m.  In an effort to play the game before the second wave of the spring storm rolls through, the game has been moved up to 2 p.m.  This weekend also marks the Mountain Lions' "Storm the Stadium" event.  The first 75 fans attending UCCS' women's lacrosse games between CSU Pueblo and Fort Lewis College will receive a free t-shirt.

Conversely, the UCCS softball team is scheduled to play at CSU Pueblo on Friday and Saturday, but the four-game series will now be played on Sunday, April 6, and Monday, April 7.  Sunday's first pitch of the doubleheader will go out at 12 p.m. from the CSUP Rawlings Softball Complex.  The four-game series will wrap up on Monday, April 7 with the doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.

The Mountain Lions baseball team will spend their RMAC bye weekend in Hays, Kans.  UCCS was originally scheduled to play three games at Fort Hays State University April 5-6, but the two teams will now square off in a non-conference doubleheader only on Sunday, April 6 at 11 a.m. (MT).

Part of the UCCS track and field programs were set to compete at the University of North Texas Bill Schmidt Invite in Denton, Texas, on April 4-5.  However, heavy storms in the area is forcing the meet to be condensed into one day on Saturday, April 5.  Action from North Texas will begin at 7 a.m. (MT).
