RU replied with ease, scoring four straight goals unanswered. The Mountain Lions ended the drought after Urbanic found Allie Schell for a goal, but the Rangers scored two more to lead 6-2. Emma Grace Martin scored on a free position shot at the 3:06 mark to cut the deficit to 6-3, but RU scored a minute later and would carry a 7-3 lead into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: RU 4, UCCS 1
- The Rangers continued their barrage of offensive attacks, scoring three straight goals in the second frame. Peyton Ross and Sydnee-Anne Moeller stopped the onslaught as Moeller scored her 20th goal of the season, but the Mountain Lions still faced a six-goal deficit (10-4). RU tacked on one more and led 11-4 at the half.
THIRD QUARTER: RU 2, UCCS 1
- Urbanic tallied her second goal of the contest out of the gate in the second half, but neither offense could find a rhythm for most of the third quarter.
