CANYON, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team put together another strong outing on day two of the Jo Meaker Classic on Friday as the men's and women's squads combined to record a total of four NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

HOW IT HAPPENED | JO MEAKER CLASSIC
- For the third time this outdoor season, junior Kyle Demos made history in the men's shot put as he once again broke his own school record in the event with an NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 17.65m to earn a second-place finish in the 17-person field. Redshirt sophomore Kane Fobare joined Demos in the top five of the standings for the shot put, recording a mark of 15.31m to take fourth place overall.
- The Mountain Lions added another NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the women's triple jump where freshman Payton Rodgers claimed a fourth-place finish in the field of 21 jumpers with an outdoor personal best leap of 12.08m. Junior Kathryn Carroll established a new season-best effort in the event with a ninth-place leap of 11.65m, while freshman Sophia Bowser also put forth a season-best mark of 11.04m to finish 14th overall.
- Redshirt sophomore KJ McInnis posted an NCAA provisional qualifying leap of his own in the men's triple jump as he notched a season and personal best jump of 14.74m to finish fifth overall in the 15-person field. Freshman Realiti Smith also had a strong performance in the event as he finished seventh overall while coming up just shy of the provisional qualifying threshold at a personal best mark of 14.64m.
- Junior Dillon Arvayo put together a strong finish to the final five events of the men's decathlon, compiling a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying score of 6,508 points to finish 10th overall in the field. Arvayo notched personal best marks in the discus throw (37.61m) and javelin throw (50.41m) along with a bar clearance of 3.85m in the pole vault and times of 15.52s in the 110m hurdles and 4:55.11 in the 1500m.
- Sophomore Lilyana Delagarza finished off the final three events of the women's heptathlon on a high note with three more personal bests as she recorded marks of 5.32m in the long jump and 26.26m in the javelin throw before finishing with a time of 2:31.49 in the 800m. Overall, Delagarza earned a sixth-place finish in the competition while posting a score of 4,439 points that registered as a personal best in the event by just over 700 points.
- Junior Brooke Peterson and sophomore Phia Edwards each cleared a bar height of 3.64m in the women's pole vault competition to finish in a tie for second place. For Edwards, the mark registered as a new season-best while Peterson was just shy of her season-best in the event of 3.75m.
- In the women's shot put, junior Bailey Young secured a fourth-place finish in the 20-person field with a toss of 13.05m, while junior Savannah Jorgens notched a season-best mark of 12.78m to finish sixth overall.
- Redshirt junior Gigi Douillard was the lone Mountain Lion competitor in the women's 400m hurdles on Friday evening as she clocked a converted time of 1:04.00 to finish fourth in her heat.
- Senior Alyssa Lopez raced to a season-best converted time of 58.25s in the women's 400m as she finished fifth overall in her heat. Redshirt sophomore Andrew Muncy was also in action in the men's 400m dash as he went on to finish sixth in his heat while coming up just shy of his season-best in the event at a converted time of 49.05s.
- The Mountain Lions had a pair of freshman student-athletes competing in the men's and women's javelin throw with Dyanna Parra finishing sixth overall in the women's competition at a mark of 35.38m and Jordan Mora taking seventh place on the men's side with a throw of 50.57m.
HOW IT HAPPENED | KIT MAYER CLASSIC
- Redshirt junior Pablo Lomeli was the lone Mountain Lion student-athlete in action in Golden, Colo., on Friday night as he posted a converted time of 32:43.99 in the men's 10,000m race to finish 21st overall in the competition.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- UCCS recorded updates to the top five lists in the outdoor record book for five different events at the Jo Meaker Classic, including the men's and women's triple jump, men's shot put, decathlon, and heptathlon.
