Mountain Lions Add Five All-America Honors on Final Day of Indoor Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team closed the third and final day of the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday with five additional All-America honors as the women's team earned a T21st place finish with nine points and the men's team secured a 25th place finish with 9.5 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the men's mile final, redshirt junior Jagger Zlotoff continued his string of success at the indoor national championship meet as he raced to a fifth-place time of 4:02.24 to collect First Team All-America accolades for the third straight indoor season. Zlotoff also scored four points for the men's team with his podium placement in the mile.
  • The Mountain Lion women's team gained four points in the women's 3,000m as senior Anna Fauske collected her second First Team All-America accolade of the meet with a fifth-place time of 9:28.74 that was just over half a second off her personal best in the event.
  • Sophomore Ashton Whisler added three more points for the men's team in the 400m dash final as he dashed two times around the track in a time of 47.71s to finish sixth overall and secure First Team All-America honors for the first time in his collegiate career.
  • UCCS secured another First Team All-America honor in the men's pole vault, where redshirt senior Caiden Macktinger cleared a bar height of 5.24m to finish in a tie for eighth place and score 0.5 points.
  • Redshirt senior Kate Hedlund closed her collegiate career with one final All-America honor in the women's mile final as she completed the race in 4:49.01 to finish ninth overall and secure second team status.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Hedlund puts a wrap on her outstanding four and a half year collegiate career with the Mountain Lions having collected a total of 13 All-America accolades across the cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field seasons. The native of Manchester, Conn., recorded a pair of cross country All-America nods, eight indoor track & field All-America accolades, and three outdoor track & field All-America honors.
  • Zlotoff now has five indoor All-America accolades to his name across the last three years of competition, including three consecutive First Team All-America nods in the men's mile and pair of Second Team All-America honors in the men's distance medley relay.
  • Whisler becomes the first men's or women's student-athlete in program history to earn All-America accolades in the indoor or outdoor 400m dash.
  • The Mountain Lions collected a total of 16 All-America honors across the three-day indoor national championship meet, including six First Team All-America accolades and 10 Second Team All-America honors.

  • The Mountain Lions will kick off the outdoor portion of their schedule next weekend as they head south to Pueblo, Colo., for the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational on March 21-22.
